Apple says some video iPods have a virus

SAN JOSE, Calif. If you bought a video iPod in the past month, there's a chance it could have a virus.

Apple Computer says the problem affects fewer than one-percent of the video iPods for sale after September 12th. They apparently got a virus from a Windows computer at a manufacturing plant.

While the iPod itself isn't affected, it could hit a Windows computer when connected. But according to Apple, if your anti-virus software is up-to-date, the virus should be detected and removed. And to get the virus off the video iPod, Apple says to use its latest iTunes program.

The problem only affects certain video iPods, and not other models.
