"Nellie," The Injured Lab, Getting Support From Across The Country

An outpouring of support from across the country, all for a dog right here in East Texas.

We first told you about Nellie on Monday. The one year old chocolate lab was dragged behind the back of a pick-up truck, then left on the roadside severely injured. At one point yesterday, her story was the 2nd most watched video on CNN.com.

Because of that, it reached thousands of people. Many have pledged to help pay for her care. Others sent cards, blankets and dog toys wishing her a speedy recovery. The veterinarian who's caring for her says, Dr. Clifton Bradshaw, says all of the concern has been mind- blowing.

"We've had people from all over the United States call, checking on her. 'How's she doing? Is there anything we can do to help?' We've had thousands of offers, if she doesn't have a home, they'd love to have her," Dr. Bradhsaw.

Nellie won't be well enough to go home for at least a couple of months. When she's recovered, she'll be adopted permanently by the woman who rescued her.

Police have identified two 17 year old suspects, but no charges have been filed.
