Longview Takes Prayer To The Streets

Another successful prayer walk for the city of Longview Wednesday afternoon.  Around 200 people came out for the second "Unity in the Community" march in South Longview.

The group walked around the block, holding up signs, praying over the neighborhood, and greeting residents. Participants say it was all in an effort to come together and take a stand against violence in Longview for the second time.

"I do believe this is an answer to it and I believe this is a beginning...it's the first step to bring it back to where, I really believe God wants to restore this area and bring some healing to it," says participant Diane Timmons.

Reverend Keven Johnson with the Longview Area Interministerial Alliance says, "I was extremely happy to see more people in the neighborhood, out receiving us in love and being able to see the unity that we were able to bring in this particular area."

Organizers say while the turnout was not as high as the last one, they still believe their message was heard and are planning even more prayer walks throughout the city.
