The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
College Scholarship Award
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36.
The Komen College Scholarship Award is designed to assist students who have lost a parent to breast cancer. Award recipients can receive up to $10,000 per year to be used towards college expenses, while a full-time undergraduate student at a state-supported college or university in their state of residency.
The selection criteria include scholastic achievement, community service, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
Application deadline is November 1, 2006.
