Adrian Peterson Breaks Collarbone, Out For Season

What began as one of the greatest days in Adrian Peterson's football career has ended as one of the worst.

The Palestine native's father had not seen his son play a game in person in nine years, as he served out a prison sentence. 

Saturday he was back in the stands, but he witnessed a grim moment. What appeared to be his son's touchdown run turned into the injury that ended his season.

The Sooner's star running back broke his collarbone on a dive into the end zone. After the play Adrian walked off the field but you could see he was carefully moving his arm. Trainers examined him on the sideline.

Coach Bob Stoops confirmed Peterson is not expected to be back this season from the injury.

Many believed Adrian was a top contender for the Heismann trophy this year, an award he will no longer be able to win.

Saturday may have very well been Adrian's last game in an Oklahoma uniform as rumors continue to swirl he will try to go pro in 2007.

    Before the Cowboys report to training camp in Oxnard, California on Saturday, it appears wide receiver Dez Bryant wants to have some fun in his hometown. On his official Facebook page on Wednesday, Bryant said he will be in Lufkin Thursday and is bringing barbecue.
