Thousands Attend Countryfest

A 22-year-old tradition in Lindale brought thousands of folks together earlier today to celebrate Countryfest.   People lined the streets this morning to kick off the event with a parade. Down the street, the festivities continued with rides, games and muttin' bustin'.

Lindale's own Nashville Star runner-up Casey Rivers came home for the town's special day to sing for those who were there from the beginning. "We just got through wrapping up the 2006 Nashville Star tour and had a blast. Saw a lot of new places, new faces and now I'm back in Lindale at the Octoberfest, back to my roots," said Rivers.   "It's always nice to come home. I mean, these folks have always been behind me a 100 percent."

Casey says he's currently working with a producer in Nashville and hopes to get a record deal soon.

After the Countryfest, the Bullfest took place at the Lindale Rodeo Arena.  Fifty cowboys competed for up to $8,000 in prizes.
