Spring Hill Takes On White Oak In Friday The 13th Matchup

Fans may not always understand it, in most cases they are just born in to it. The cross town rivalry of Spring Hill and White Oak.

"It's always a battle," said Roughneck offensive tackle, Travis Koonce.

"I've never seen a rivalry this big in my life," Michael Fillmore Roughneck wide receiver said.

"We all look forward to this game all year," Panthers wide receiver Robbie Garcia said. "We always want to win this one cause it's White Oak and we always love beating White Oak."

For years it's been a battle on and off the field.

"I think White Oak stole the Spring Hill Panther one time," Craig Blankenship said.

The stakes in 2006 were even higher. The rival rematch also the district opener.

"Anytime you start district you want to start out on the right note," said Spring Hill Coach Robert Bero.

The Panthers hoped to change their district fortune this season, after going 0-4 in district last year, the Panthers of 2006 entered the game 2-2 overall coming off a bye.

Up the street at White oak, the Roughnecks were still beaming from their double overtime homecoming win against Pleasant Grove.
