Amnesty Program Giving Second Chance For Wanted East Texas
The Precinct 4 Constable's office in Smith County is giving folks one month to settle up with the judge before being arrested.
There are 4,000 warrants that need to be served. The crimes range from writing bad checks, to speeding and possession of drugs. They date as far back as the early 90's.
Those who decide not to take care of business now, will be paid a visit by officers later.
"We can track them down. I'll found out where they are and have them picked up. I'm going to go to their jobs and get 'em if that's what it takes. Plus, they can't renew their driver's license, warns Precinct 4 Constable John Smith.
This amnesty program is for those living in Smith County's Precinct 4.
It begins October 16-November 13.
You can go directly to the constable's office to see the judge at 110 Dallas Street in Winona.
For more information, the office number is (903) 877-3119.
