U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison made her way to East Texas Thursday. The Longview Partnership held a Special Governmental Affairs Luncheon, featuring an address from the Senator.
Hutchison spoke about many local and national issues, touching on the war in Iraq. The senator has been known for her efforts in upping patrol and DEA officers along the Texas-Mexico border, an issue she told us is a top priority for her.
"We've got to continue to patrol our borders so that we know who is in our country and so that we keep the criminal elements like drug dealers and human traffickers and even terrorists from being able to penetrate our border on the North or the South," says Hutchison.
Hutchison has represented the state of Texas in the Senate since 1993.
