Calm Weather Helps Crews Battling Tenacious California Wildfire

LOCKWOOD VALLEY, Calif. Fire crews in California have contained nearly three-quarters of one of the largest wildfires in the state's history.

The blaze that began on Labor Day is expected to be surrounded by Monday night.

It's burned about 255 square miles of wilderness 70 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Officials say it was sparked by someone burning debris.

The U-S Forest Service says nearly 48-hundred firefighters are mopping up hot spots.
