Dentist Whose Five-Year-Old Patient Died Has License Suspended

CHICAGO Regulators in Illinois have suspended the license of a dentist whose five-year-old patient fell into a coma in his office and later died.

They say the dentist failed to properly monitor Diamond Brownridge's blood pressure, pulse and respiration during her treatment.

Diamond died earlier this week at a Chicago hospital. She had been on life support for four days after her visit to have some teeth filled and others capped.

The complaint says the dentist recorded that Diamond was "alert and responsive" on discharge, although her mother claims to have found her comatose in the dental chair.

The dentist faces up to ten-thousand dollars in fines for each of four violations.
