Longview Restaurants Win Blue Ribbons

Three Longview area restaurants are recognized for excellence in food service.  No violations over a one year period has earned three Longview restaurants the blue ribbon award. The Jalapeno Tree at 508 north Eastman road did not have a single violation in four straight inspection periods.

"It's all in the help, I've got a great staff I can't take any of the credit" said Jalapeno Tree manager Allen Lofton.

Another perfect record over four straight inspection periods was McDonalds at 128 west Loop 281. Workers say hard work and cleanliness is the key.

"Our standards are high, we train our employees to know the health department regulations to maintain our customers" said manager Robin Johnson.

And rounding out the field is Chick-Fil-A at 1740 west Loop 281, with no violations in the past four inspection periods. Supervisors credit the award to good work habits.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to accept this blue ribbon award because we try our very best to give customer service first" said Chick-Fil-A supervisor Monel Bass.

Records of their perfect scores were provided by the Longview environmental health department.
