Brownsboro Teacher Enters No Contest Plea

A former Brownsboro teacher will spend two years in jail after entering a last minute plea deal in a case set to go to trial today.

Danny Burns, the former high school band director pleaded no contest to having an inappropriate relationship with a 17 year old student last year. He was sentenced to two years, and that will be served concurrently with two other 24 month sentences from a July conviction for tampering with a witness.

The Henderson County DA's office says Burns also waived his right to appeal the conviction and admitted to other charges that were pending against him in Nacogdoches. Those charges were then dismissed.
