PATH Week - - Tyler, Longview, Jacksonville |ETX News

You may have seen the signs in yards all around Tyler, letting you know it's PATH week. Every year, PATH sets aside one week to raising awareness of its mission.  PATH, also known as People Attempting To Help, is a non-profit organization that provides, food, rent and prescription assistance to more than 23,000 Smith County residents every year.

"PATH week is a great celebration because it not only raises awareness of PATH and what we do, it also is a form of advocacy for the people we serve.  It's a way for us recruit volunteers and the all important dollar that we are trying to raise to make ends meet," says Christina Fulsom, Executive Director at PATH.

Here a few events going on during PATH week. Tomorrow, there is a Philanthropy dinner at 7:00 PM at the TASCA building in Tyler. The guest speaker is Dr. Rick Rigsby. Tickets are $25.00.

Then on Thursday, there's a Prayer Luncheon at noon at the First Baptist Church in Tyler.  Dr. Mike Massar is the speaker, reservations are needed for both events. Call PATH for more details.
