Jurors Listen To Audio Recordings Of Williams Talking To Detectives

Audio recordings were played for jurors today, in the capital murder trial of Clifton Lamar Williams.  Williams is accused of stabbing, robbing and then burning 93 year old Cecelia Schneider in her Tyler home.

In the recordings, jurors listened as Williams lead police to a pond where they discovered Schneider's purse, wallet and the suspected murder weapon.  On the tapes, Williams says another man broke through Schneider's screen door, and forced him to go to into her home. Their motive to take money.

In the recordings, Williams told detectives, "Yeah, I'm telling you, man, he stabbed that lady- I swear I seen with my own eyes."

Williams later told detectives Schneider was in her kitchen and tried to shut the door on them. The prosecution will continue to present their witnesses next week.
