Longview Restaurants Have Trouble Making The Grade

        5 Longview restaurants were singled out for the most serious violations in the latest round of inspections by the Longview health department, including Sharktails at 2323 West Loop 281. 9 violations were found in an August 16th inspection. Hot foods were held at unsafe temperatures and food contact surfaces were found un-cleaned. They scored a "D".

    8 violations were found in a September 9th inspection of Hunan's restaurant at 420 North High Street. Food prep areas were un-cleaned, stored food was not protected and there were hygienic violations among employees. They scored a "C".

    Inspected August 21st, KFC-Taco Bell at 3603 Estes Parkway had 8 violations. Foods were not properly protected, there was cross contamination of foods and hot foods were held at unsafe temperatures. They scored a "C".

     7 violations were found at the Nuevo Leon bakery at 1925 East Marshall Avenue, in a September 5th inspection. There was evidence of insect contamination, and improper heating a cooling of foods. They scored a "B".

     And 7 violations were found in an August 14th inspection of Churches Fried Chicken at 2000 Toler Road. There was improper handling of ready to eat foods, and un-cleaned work areas. They scored a "B".
