Spring Hill Panthers Report
Spring Hill 24, Daingerfield 14

Next Game: Spring Hill vs. Pleasant Grove @ SH- 7:30

Spring Hill was a slight underdog to Daingerfield last Friday, with DeMikel Shankle out with a small tear in his ACL. Junior Cody Hendricks and sophomore Jake Fudge shared the tailback duties in his absence.

It was a close game up until halftime, with the score 14-10 Daingerfleld. Late in the third quarter, with the same score, Jake Fudge picked off a pass from senior quarterback Matt Whorton and returned it all the way for six points.

The extra point from senior Taylor Pechacek made the score 17-14 Spring Hill, their first lead since the opening minutes of the game. The Panther defense shut down the Tigers after that, making them unable to find the endzone again. After a long pass from junior Chris Lee to senior Robby Garcia, the Panthers scored once more from a short run up the middle by Cody Hendricks, making the score 24-14.

Late in the fourth quarter tailback Cody Hendricks hurt his right knee from a tackle that sent him out of bounds. He finally got up after about three or four minutes on the ground, and seemed to be somewhat okay, but he didn't play for the rest of the game. He is questionable for this Friday's game against Pleasant Grove.

This week the Panthers will host Pleasant Grove, who is looking to bounce back from their embarrassing loss to Pine Tree last week. The game will start at 7:30 Friday night at Panther Stadium.
