Are You Ready For Some Romo?

IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Tony Romo thinks he's ready to be the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

And maybe he is. Thing is, Romo thought he was ready last year. And the year before.

Confidence is certainly one of Romo's strengths. Yet bravado, popularity and even a new contract might not make him the best option for the Cowboys. At least, as coach Bill Parcells put it Monday, "not right now."

The Cowboys lost their season opener to Jacksonville 27-17. After a great start, and a 10-0 lead, Drew Bledsoe missed on some passes that could have put the game away early for Dallas. He wound up throwing an interception that let Jacksonville tie the game at halftime.

The loss has prompted speculation that Romo should start on Sunday against Washington. But Parcells says he's sticking with Bledsoe as the starter.
