Teaching Texans To Vote Tour

With the election right around the corner, the Texas Secretary of State is doing what he can to get Texans to vote.  Secretary Williams started the Votexas Program in January after the Help America Vote Act required all counties to use the new electronic voting machines. Williams says he wants to encourage voters to find out where to vote, when to vote and how to use the new voting machines.

"I think we all agree, across America and certainly in Texas, it's our patriotic duty and it's a precious right we have to vote,"said Secretary of State Roger Williams. "Like everything we do in Texas, we want it to be the best and my goal is to make Texas the model of the yardstick on which election and voting is based."   Tyler is just one of 35 stops for Secretary Williams in the next couple of months.
