East Texas 9/11 Victim Lives On In Tyler

Dr. Bryan C. Jack was aboard the plane that crashed into the Pentagon. He also worked there as a budget analyst.

Jack was a 1970 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. That's where a stone bench was built on campus in his honor.

Hundreds of TISD students will soon know Jack by name also. The district is naming one of the new elementary schools after him.

"It's going to be the Dr. Bryan C. Jack Patriots and the colors are going to be red, white and blue. I don't think you can have a more fitting memorial," says TISD Superintendent Dr. David Simmons.

Bryan Jack has received a number of awards in his memory from President Bush, including The Distinguished Civilian Service Award and The Defense of Freedom Award.
