UT Tyler Students Remember 9/11

UT Tyler hosted a day of remembrance by tolling the bells on the Riter Bell Tower. From 8:00 a.m. until 5:20 this evening, there was a ring every six seconds for the nearly 3,000 victims of the 9/11 attacks.

Bagpipes played "Amazing Grace" and a moment of silence was observed at 7:45 a.m., coinciding with the first plane hitting the World Trade Center.

Also on hand were State Representative Leo Berman and U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert. They spoke about how the events of that day changed the world forever.  Other East Texans shared their personal experiences from the day.
