Longview Dance Studio Burned

A fire in Longview destroyed a popular dance studio. The blaze happened Saturday night in the 1600 block of Pine Tree Rd. Officials are looking into what sparked the fire.  Many residents are sad to see the Dotty Hunt School Of Dance, the long-time studio of a former Radio City rockette, gone.

Today her current and former student's couldn't believe it.  "We will definitely put it all back together and continue our performances," said Hunt's daughter, Michelle Wood.

Hunt was overcome and fainted after seeing what the fire had done.  She was taken to an area hospital for observation.

Hunt, a former Radio City rockette, has taught hundreds of students over the last 35 years. News of the fire brought many out to visit the place they had trained so many times and to express their support.

"The outpour of love and concern that we have felt in just these immediate hours have been just touching to us and the students that have shown their concern mean more to us than anything," said Wood.

Hunt has lost the memories from the loss of the building , but like a true showman, her family says she will be back. Hunt was released from the hospital and is back with her family. Hunt's family members say anyone with questions about the studio's future should call the studio line. The messages will be forwarded to the family's home number.
