Drive-By Shooter Fires Rounds At Tyler Family's Home

Some Tyler residents woke up to gun shots being fired towards their home.

The drive by shooting happened before 6:00 a.m in the 2300 block of Garden Valley Road in Tyler; that's just a few blocks away from the old Ramey elementary school.

The bullets hit a black Escalade, and then a few shots hit the house. The bullets that entered the house grazed the ceiling and caused this damage.

Police say, whoever shot at the house, later wrecked their red truck into the woods just two houses down.

A family of five was inside the home at the time; however, no one was injured. The family said they do not know why they were targeted.

Alicia Valle, victim said,  "My parents are very friendly; and they have a lot of friends and no enemies. My brother and I: We have no idea who might have done this."

Police did take the gunman's vehicle into custody and are collecting evidence from it. If you have any information on who drives a red 1998 Ford Ranger truck with license plate number 528CTG, please call Tyler police.
