East Texas breast cancer survivors invited to annual luncheon

The Tyler affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation invites you to attend the 8th annual "Pretty in Pink" breast cancer survivor's luncheon.  The event will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the East Texas Medical Center Pavilion, located at 801 Clinic Drive, behind ETMC.

Admission is free for breast cancer survivors and $12 per person for guests.  Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with shopping available in the Komen boutique.  The program will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This year's featured speaker, Judy Kayse, is a teacher, writer and humorist but most importantly a breast cancer survivor. Kayse is from Huntsville, Texas. She has participated in Race for the Cure events all over the country and has written a book about her personal experience with breast cancer that is in the process of being published.

The event features a survivor fashion show presented by Coldwater Creek.  A special purse drawing will also be held and there will be many fabulous door prizes donated by local businesses.

The Komen Tyler affiliate will also announce the recipient of the second annual Joyce Greenberg volunteer award.  Greenberg, a two-time breast cancer survivor was an inspiration to the community with her efforts to raise awareness about the disease. Greenberg passed away in 2005.

Please RSVP to Cindy Nick at (903) 535-8244 or cnick60654@aol.com by October 1. Parking is available across from the Pavilion in the ETMC Cancer Institute lot or next to the building.
