East Texas Elementary School Holds Recycling Contest

Some East Texas elementary students show off their artistic ability and learn the importance of recycling at the same time.   Students at JE Rhodes Elementary School in Van decorated recycling boxes to keep in their classrooms all year. The students designed the boxes themselves. Today these four boxes were voted as the most creative.

"We started thinking about Nemo, and we we wanted to decorated with kinds of fishes that are in the ocean with Nemo," said Kayliegh Amnona, 2nd Grader.

"I thought an elephant would be nice because I really like animals, and it's really doing out part in saving them when you recycle," said Shelby Reynolds, 2nd Grader.   Teachers say the students loved decorating the boxes so much, they plan to do it again next year.
