Many East Texans had the day off and decided to head to the lake for a Labor Day celebration with the family. At Lake Gladewater today, picnic tables were full and barbeque pits were fired up.
Many families spent the day picnicking, splashing around in the lake, and relaxing on the beach. Everyone we spoke with said it was the perfect way to spend the holiday, but is everyone ready to say goodbye to summer?
Cinnamon McKey, who comes to Lake Gladewater often, says, "No, no. We'll probably come out here a few more times because the heat is unbearable and we don't have a pool in our backyard. The swimming pools are closed, so we have to come out here."
Lake-goers with spoke with today said because Lake Gladewater's levels are not as low as other lakes, they are able to enjoy the water more.
