Luncheon Helps Women Wanting To Start Own Business

More than 200 women gathered in Tyler today for the 2006 Women's Entrepreneurial Luncheon. The event, sponsored by TJC's Small Business Development Center gives women the opportunity to meet other business owners and learn how to better run a business. Women also get a chance to showcase their existing businesses.

"I faced the typical challenges that I am a woman and people automatically assume you don't know what you are doing, you've never run a business," said Deborah Tinsley, Small Business Person Of The Year. "It was really hard to get backing. It was really hard difficult for me as a women to get started, but I'm so thankful for the Small Business Development Center because they really helped me get going."   This is the entrepreneurial luncheon's 9th year. For upcoming events contact the Small Business Development Center located on TJC's West campus.
