Mount Olive Baptist Church Gets A New Home

It was a proud day for members of an East Texas church with a history spanning more than a century. Members of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church held a dedication ceremony for their new building.

The sanctuary seats about 500 people, so there is plenty of room to grow for the 300-member congregation. Pastor B.C. Grogan, Jr. says the today's service was a sign of gratitude for the work God has done in the life of the church.

"Well, I think it's important to show what God has done for us. We have nothing to boast about, but if we boast in anything, we boast on God's behalf. We're not just dedicating the building, but our members are dedicating themselves back to God, reaffirming their commitment to God," said Grogan.

The church started its building fund in January of 2005 and broke ground on the building in April.
