Volunteers Train To Be Ready For Disaster

When disaster strikes... a team of East Texans are ready to respond.   The Salvation Army in Tyler started it's 2-day disaster relief training today. More than 30 volunteers are learning how to use their mobile units. The training will give the volunteers hands on experience before they are called to help.

"Within an hour or two hours we are ready to deploy and these people will go out of state if necessary.  The volunteers are filled with compassion, feed those emergency responders and a helping hand whatever is needed," says Captain John Falin with Salvation Army.

If you would like to be a disaster relief volunteer, please contact Linda Edwards at Salvation Army at 903-592-4361.
