TJC's Tax Revenue Gets No Public Opposition

Tyler Junior College collecting more tax revenue next year doesn't seem to be bothering taxpayers. Today, the public was given a chance to comment on the tax rate, but no one from the general public showed up to the hearing. The tax rate, which is $0.1272 per $100 valuation, will remain the same and is likely to pass at next week's board meeting. Because of the increase in property valuation, TJC will collect more revenue in 2006.
