Lobos Ready For Nationally Televised Game... Again

For the past few years, national television camers and the Longview Lobos go together like the green and white on their jerseys.

But while shinning in front of a the entire country might be old hat for the Lobos, it's a bunch of new faces in starring roles.

With one offensive guard and the kicker as the only returning starters, fans may be tuning in to find out who exactly is on this team.

Senior D'Marcus Miles will be the new starting quarterback, but he has been on varsity since his sophomore year. He said he is mentally prepared to lead the Lobos, and knows he will need that confidence with the country watching.

"My decision making is going to be a lot better than it was from the time I played last season," D'Marcus said. "But i've been playing a lot with the receivers this off season and I think that's going to help a lot."

"He's gotten a lot faster and a lot stronger each and every year," said Lobos Head CoachJohn King. "He's a very athletic quarterback he has a good arm. He can run the triple option or he can do the things we need out of the gun."

With that nationally televised game, the Lobos will play a nationally ranked team. The Lufkin Panthers are third in the country according to the Nation Prep Poll. Their matchup will be broadcast on Fox Sports Network, Thursday, October 6th.
