Angel's Era At Canton Begins

Last season brought an end to a 40 year drought in Canton, with the Eagles first district title win in almost have a century.

Now with a new coacing staff and a new quarterback, the Eagles hope to create a new winning tradition.

Lance Angel was named the Eagles new head coach last March, joining the team from Cooper.

In 2006, theEeagles have some holes at a few positions but several returning starters.

It will be a former receiver in the roll of quarterback this season. Casey Bell will be leading the charge.

Coach Angel said he is new to the team and vice versa but it is all starting to come together

"Coaches just have to go through this," he said of the adjustment. "You make changes and you adapt. You get to know new kids and before you know it, you've had four practices, this is number five and you start to feel like a family."

"Right now, obviously we're trying to put in a new system which we got some done in the spring. So, we feel like we're a little bit ahead there."

Canton will play T.K. Gorman in the Azalea Orthopedic Kickoff Classic on September 2.
