City Of Tyler Gets New Fire Truck

It's red, shiny and has that new car smell. Actually, it's a brand new fire truck.   The Tyler Fire Department showed off it's $365,000.00 truck this morning. The fire department says it helped design the truck.  A committee made up of people in the department gave the manufacturer suggestions on what is needed. What they wanted the most was to be able to carry more equipment at one time.

"These days it's changed so much because we've had to fight to find space to fit all the equipment that we had," said Fire Chief, Neal Franklin. "Now this truck utilizes all that space that wasn't used in the past and we're able to have all the equipment we need on scene quickly because we can carry it on the apparatus."
