Bad News?... Bears!

Black bears may soon be coming to East Texas. State Wildlife officials are considering re-introducing bears to the region. Officials say it's an effort to bring the bears back into their original habitation. However, it will take a lot of partnership between landowners and state officials.

"We want to bring the species back in East Texas and it's just a proposal.  If the public thinks it's a great thing then Parks and Wildlife may lead the charge and if land owners and other agencies just drastically oppose it then I image we will be status quo," says Chris Green, Game Warden with Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Green says if the proposal does get approved it might happen within the next 5 to 10 years.
