Texas Education Agency Releases School Campus Ratings

The state has released school Campus Accountability Ratings, and John Tyler High School is once again rated as Academically Unacceptable.

Last year, the school was rated as Acceptable by the Texas Education Agency.  Also in Tyler ISD, Griffin Elementary went from Unacceptable to Acceptable.

Tyler ISD says they're appealing the Unacceptable rating for John Tyler. A spokesperson says the rating was based on completion rates for students graduating last year, and the district believes the data used by the TEA was incorrect.

In Longview ISD, both Everhart and McClure Magnet Schools go from Acceptable to Unacceptable.

Jacksonville Middle School is rated this year as Unacceptable from Acceptable in 2005.
