ETMC Mt. Vernon patient satisfaction scores rank among the nation's best
How promptly did the nurse respond when you pushed the call button?
Do you think the staff who administered your tests and treatments was concerned with your comfort?
Was your food served at the proper temperature?
ETMC Mt. Vernon regularly sends surveys with questions just like these to its former patients to ask them how satisfied they were with the hospital's services during their stay. And, according to recent results received by the hospital from Press Ganey Associates, the nation's leading patient satisfaction measurement firm, ETMC Mt. Vernon is meeting those needs better than 97 percent of its clients nationwide.
Press Ganey, based in South Bend, Indiana, is the independent company that ETMC hospitals-and thousands of other hospitals across the nation-use to survey patients about their hospital satisfaction.
"Our success can be summarized in two words 'the people'. Our community is blessed to have individuals dedicated to providing healthcare that is second to none," said ETMC Mt. Vernon Administrator Stephen Pitts. "The employees and physicians have a passion for giving their patients excellent care."
ETMC Mt. Vernon's average overall inpatient hospital rating was measured from surveys returned between January 1 and June 30. Compared to the 355 hospitals' scores in Press Ganey's small hospital database, ETMC Mt. Vernon ranked at the 97th percentile (meaning that the hospital ranked higher than 97 percent of similar-sized hospitals nationwide). Compared to hospitals in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas, the ranking was even higher at 98.
ETMC Mount Vernon is part of a regional system that seeks to maximize the quality and level of care offered by each community's hospital.
Other ETMC hospitals serve the cities and surrounding areas of Athens, Carthage, Clarksville, Crockett, Fairfield, Gilmer, Jacksonville, Pittsburg, Quitman, Rusk, Trinity and Tyler.
