Two Kids Allegedly Break Into East Texas School And Shoot Off Fireworks

An East Texas school is broken into allegedly by kids who set off fireworks inside. Several small fires were started.   Surveillance video taken Tuesday night at Lindale Junior High School shows two kids entering the school through the back door and setting off fireworks in the seventh grade hallway. The school's resource officer says the kids also tried to put fireworks underneath some of the classroom doors. When a Lindale Police Officer responded to the school's fire alarm the kids ran away. Officials say the kids knew the school well.

"We're thinking that they knew where the security cameras were because they had things over their face and a ball cap on their head, so they knew exactly where to go and not to, so the cameras wouldn't pick them up," said Windy Savering, Lindale ISD Resource Officer.   Officer's say the two kids could face arson charges. The Smith County Precinct 5 Constable's Office is offering a reward up to $1,000.00 for information leading to an arrest.
