Lake Tyler Advisory Board Meets To Talk About Hydrilla Problem

In the past year, Hydrilla has taken over Lake Tyler. The Lake Tyler Advisory Board met to figure out what they can do about it.   This afternoon, Texas Parks and Wildlife presented the board with treatment options for the lake. Now the question is, who should pay for the treatment, the city or the people who live on the lake?

"Ultimately, I do believe it's the cities obligation to solve this problem," said Senator Kevin Eltife, Tyler. "It's the cities water supply and you know this problem didn't happen over night. It's probably something we should of dealt with a year ago, and now it's gotten worse and we need to deal with it, and it needs to be taken of."   Texas Parks and Wildlife says it has given the city a treatment management plan. The city is currently reviewing that plan.
