There's a new center open for East Texans with terminal illnesses. There was a ribbon cutting and dedication today for the Legacy Hospice Inpatient Center.
It's designed to be a home-like environment for patients whose medical needs cannot be met in the home. The center has ammenities like a library and meditation rooms for their patients' families.
Bob Fisher with the center says, "It just makes everyone more comfortable. They can be more relaxed. They can come and go as they need to. It's open 24 hours a day. It just becomes a 2nd home to them."
This is the 2nd inpatient hospice center in East Texas.
