Stabbing At East Texas Club Sends Man To Hospital

A stabbing at an East Texas restaurant and club overnight sends a man to the hospital.   It happened just before midnight at the Banana Tree Club in Tyler. That's located at the 1000th Block of West Gentry Parkway.

Police say club security asked a man to leave after a disturbance. The man then showed a knife and tried to stab someone. When he did, another man tried to stop it and ended up getting stabbed in the chest himself.

Police later arrested 33-year-old Kenneth Harris for the stabbing. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
