Jurors Hear From Alleged Victim In Jefferson Moore Trial

Jurors heard some graphic testimony today in the sexual assault case of a former East Texas daycare owner.  Jefferson Moore Jr., 58, is on trial for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Moore owned the Dogwood City Preschool and Daycare on Highway 155 South, near Lake Palestine. The school was closed after the investigation began in December 2004.

Jefferson has been indicted on three counts of "aggravated sexual assault of a child." Today, jurors heard from two nurses who examined the alleged victims and they heard an audio taped interview with one of the girls.

During the interview, the seven- year-old said Moore touched her private area and he made her touch his during "nap time."

Jurors are expected back in court at 9:00 a.m. The defense is expected to call at least one more witness to the stand. If convicted, Moore faces between five years to life in prison.
