ETMC plans free lecture series July 10, 24
The ETMC Orthopedic Institute will host a sports medicine lecture series to discuss injury prevention and orthopedic treatment for athletes of all ages.
The series will be held on Mondays July 10 and 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the ETMC Pavilion, located at 801 Clinic Drive in Tyler. Lecture topics will focus on the care and treatment of joints that athletes typically injure, such as the shoulder, elbow, hand, knee, ankle and foot.
"Sports medicine is all about bringing patients back from an injury and returning them to their previous level of activity, whether they have a shoulder, hip, knee or whole-body injury," said Mark Kwartowitz, MD, ETMC sports medicine physician and orthopedic surgeon.
Kwartowitz is one of four orthopedic surgeons who will be presenting the lecture series. Also speaking are Dr. Dennis Devinney, Dr. Shawn Mansour and Dr. David Navid. These fellowship trained orthopedic physicians are committed to keeping athletes healthy and helping those who have suffered sports injuries get back in the game.
