Kids Get Free Hoop Lessons From Former Longview Pro

When you love basketball there is no such thing as a summer break and the sounds of sneakers on the hardwood floor were heard loud and clear Saturday morning at Longview High School.

That's where former Lobo and NBA veteran Michael McDonald held a free clinic for kids.

It was the third year for the clinic. Michael played his college ball at the University of New Orleans and played for the Charlotte Hornets in the 90's. He also played for teams across the world and said he hopes he can pass along life lessons not just basketball skills.

"That's the joy you get out of it, if you can help one kid I think I've job," said Michael, "so that is my dream. Hopefully somebody out of this crowd will come back and thank me for helping to change their life because a lot of people influenced me so, I just want to give back."
