Big Meth Bust In Rusk County

Tonight, two Rusk County men are behind bars after one of the biggest meth busts in the county's history.

The bust happened yesterday when officers served a search warrant in the 1200 block of County Road 164 in Overton.

Law enforcement officers say they found 120 grams of meth and 5.5 pounds of pot. That has a street value of more than 15,000 dollars. They also found five guns and more than a thousand dollars in cash.

The Chief Deputy of the Rusk County Sheriff's Department, Dusty Flanagan, says this is a major victory for the county.

"When you're selling that much Ice, it's affecting numerous people in our area. Whether its adults or kids, methamphetamine, it's taken over our community. It's gotten to be a horrible problem for us," Flanagan said.

The 2 suspects are facing state felony charges which could land them in jail for 20 years. It's possible federal charges could be on the way.
