Officials Say Low Lake Levels Could Cause Problems For Boaters

Authorities will have a close eye on low lake levels this extended Fourth of July weekend.  Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden Chris Green with says Lake Tyler is down about six feet. On Lake Palestine, there are several exposed stumps, that can also create a boating hazard. Green told us today the low levels make it harder to navigate.

"Don't trim your motor up and go out there beside the boat. With the waves and other boaters coming by, potentially causing to create a wave, it could kick you off the water," said Green. Green also says officials are on the lookout for intoxicated drivers.
