Water Field Day For Local Kids

They go to classes year-round, but that didn't keep some local students from a day of summer fun.

The kids at Tyler's St. Louis School enjoyed everything from waterslides to face painting at their "Summer Olympics."

Volunteers organized the water field day to give smiles to special needs children.

"The kids are just having a blast, there are huge smiles all over the place, no matter what the kids can or can't do, they're having fun," said Laura Hutcheson, an AmeriCorps Volunteer.

Volunteers say the day is not only about the fun and games, it also teaches the kids lessons in communication.
