An emotional announcement today, Tyler Junior College President Dr. William Crowe will be retiring. Dr. Crowe says he will leave TJC in January of 2008. He has been with the college for 23 years, and president for 11 years, but says it's time for a change.
"I think for me it's, emotionally I would never leave. I'm really tied to this place but I think intellectually it's time for a change. I think it will be good for the school and for me," says Dr. William Crowe.
Dr. Crowe says, over the next 18 months, he would like to see plans underway for a new science building and classrooms. The board did not say when the search for a new president will begin.
