Tyler Family Breaks Ground For New Habitat Home

Another Tyler family is about to become homeowners thanks to Habitat For Humanity and the generosity of local businesses.

The groundbreaking for Martin and Maria Solis' house was today. The family has already put in more than the 500 required sweat equity hours, and the walls have not even gone up yet. They say all of the hard work is worth it, because it will mean a better home for their their family.

"It's been important for our children most of all, for the love of our children. We have a better life, a dignified life for our children.  We're going to feel proud, most of all because the houses are habitable, and they're comfortable," said Maria.

The Solis' house is being sponsored by the Tyler Area Builder's Association. Construction is set to begin on July 8th.
