Court Of Appeals Judge Steps Down

She served the East Texas community as a Judge for 23 years. Today she stepped down.   Judge Diane DeVasto was the first female justice to preside on the 12th Court of Appeals in Tyler. Governor Rick Perry appointed her in 2003.   Justice DeVasto also served as judge for the Smith County Court at Law and Tyler Municipal Court. Justice DeVasto will be joining a private law practice. The governor's office has not yet announced who will replace her.
