New Bilingual Director Heads Program at TISD

Tyler ISD is pleased to announce Frances Balderrama as the Director of Bilingual and English
as a Second Language (ESL) Education for the school system. Balderrama has been with the school system for 15 years serving at several campuses as a Bilingual/ESL Teacher, Gifted and Talented Teacher, and Instructional Consultant.

"Ms. Balderrama is a perfect example of promoting excellence within the school system," said Superintendent David Simmons. "She is an award winning teacher whose focus is putting the needs of her students first."

Balderrama's new role will be to oversee the Bilingual and ESL program at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She will supervise the bilingual teachers and oversee program development.

"I am very excited about my new position," said Balderrama. "As a bilingual teacher I strongly believe in this program because I see the success of the students," she said.

Balderrama says her goal for the program is to foster student success and transition the students into English.
